I am a fan of Hatteberg. He is a good fielder, and a "Moneyball" player in terms of his approach at the plate. He would be virtually the only hitter besides Ichiro on this team with some kind of plate discipline.

Imagine, Billy Beane could be running the Sox right now, and "Moneyball" would not be as obscure as it is today.

Just think of the way Theo has run things in Boston. He let high priced veterans Johnny Damon and Pedro Martinez to leave via Free Agency, and replaced them would good young talent. He traded away Nomar, who has never been the same ever since then. Even this season his moves are looking great. He signed a player nobody else wanted (Bartolo Colon) and is using him to great success. All of these moves are Billy Beane moves.
